Join FACT for a cord blood inspection and accreditation workshop and quality boot camp on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, from 6:30 am - 4:15 pm CT, 11:30 - 21:15 GMT. The FACT workshop morning sessions will begin with three presenters from different cord blood banking programs, who will explain the benefits of FACT accreditation and discuss how FACT accreditation makes a difference in cord blood banking. Presenters will share benefits gained and best practices to ensure consistency in outputs and outcomes. The morning continues with an overview of FACT accreditation, detailing the accreditation process from application to accreditation. Other morning sessions include the key to compliance success, a guided tour of a cord blood bank in which the presenter will review FACT cord blood bank Standard’s requirements that can be identified and evaluated during the tour (on-site or virtual), and finally, common citations in cord blood banking and how to avoid them, and . Examples will be provided, and case studies presented.
The afternoon quality boot camp sessions begin with a presentation on developing and assessing a quality management plan. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session and an interactive break-out session. The second half of the afternoon will focus on stability studies in cord blood banking and includes a presentation on the results of a stability studies survey, presentations on establishing and maintaining a stability program within a public or private cord blood bank, and ends with a panel discussion.
