Margaret Blaney

Margaret Blaney is a Registered Nurse working at Strong Memorial Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center’s Blood and Marrow Transplant Center.  She is the BMT Quality Manager, IEC Administrator, and Nurse Manager of outpatient BMT services including data management, BMT nurse coordinators, Apheresis, Infusion, and Marrow Collection.  She has worked with cellular therapy patients for over 25 years and has been an oncology RN for almost 30 years.  

Ed Brindle

Ed Brindle, MSc, MLT

Hamilton Health Sciences, Cellular Therapy and Transplantation

Ed has over 30 years’ experience as a Medical Lab Technologist in Hematology, Transfusion, Microbiology, Clinical Biochemistry, Quality Management, Cord Blood and Cellular Therapy and has served in various Technical and Managerial roles within UK and Canada. He is currently the Quality Manager for the Cellular Therapy & Transplantation Service at The Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre, Hamilton Health Sciences, Ontario, Canada.

He serves as member of the FACT HPC Standards and Quality Management Committee; Canadian Society for Medical Lab Science; Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and actively participates on the BMT and Cellular Therapy Laboratory National Standards. Ed continues to be an advocate for quality and loves to share his passion for continuous quality improvement to enable facilities to succeed in meeting International Regulatory and Accreditation Standards.

Therese Dodd

Sarah Cannon Blood and Marrow Transplant Program

Therese is responsible for assessing, analyzing, and recommending quality and clinical performance improvement processes for the Sarah Cannon Blood Cancer Network and Sarah Cannon Research Institute. She collaborates with the clinical service group to provide division guidance to ensure the cancer service line is in compliance with regulatory and accreditation bodies. She also oversees the performance improvement activities and delivers guidance to the quality coordinators throughout the network. Therese previously served as the Quality Improvement Committee Chair for the Medical College of Wisconsin BMT Program and as the Blood and Marrow Transplant Manager at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. 

Leigh Gates

Leigh Gates, CPHQ
Manager of Clinical Quality 

University of Colorado Hospital, Blood Cancer and Bone Marrow Transplant Program

Leigh Gates is the Manager of Clinical Quality for the Blood Disorders & Cell Therapies Center (BDCTC) at UCHealth in Aurora, Colorado. She manages the quality program for all hematologic malignancy, BMT, Immune Effector Cell and general hematology patients for the system, as well as oversees data management for the center. Leigh has over 13 years’ experience in oncology quality and improvement with past experience in advocacy and patient experience as well. Prior to UCHealth, Leigh held positions at the American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and Right Management Consultants. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), and a past member of ASTCT’s Quality Committee.
 

Phillip Johnson

Phillip Johnson is the Director / Scientific Director at Queensland Cord Blood Bank at the Mater and the Director of the Cellular Therapy Unit of Mater Pathology. He is a member of the FACT Cord Blood Bank Processing, Selection and Release Standards Subcommittees, the FACT Quality Management Committee, and the FACT Cord Blood Accreditation Committee. He is a FACT Cord Blood Bank, Collection and Processing Inspector. 

Dr. Kim Kasow

Kim Kasow, DO
Director, Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Program, Marrow Collections Medical Director
UNC Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program


Dr. Kim Kasow directs both clinical care and clinical research efforts in transplant at UNC. One of her primary interests is providing hematopoietic cell transplantation to patients with sickle cell disease.

She is a current member of the FACT Board of Directors, chair of the FACT Finance and Quality Management Committees, and Vice-chair of the FACT Technology Committee. Dr. Kasow is also a member of the Cellular Therapy Accreditation and Clinical Program Standards Committees. Dr. Kasow has served as a Clinical Hematopoietic Cellular Therapy, Clinical Immune Effector Cellular Therapy, and Marrow Collection FACT inspector since 2006.

Kris Mahadeo

Kris Mahadeo, MD, MPH

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy

Kris Mahadeo, MD, joined MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital as an Associate Professor, Section Chief and Medical Director of Pediatric Stem Cell Therapy in 2017. Prior to this role, he was an assistant professor of pediatrics at Albert Einstein Cancer Center and director of Marrow and Blood Cell Transplantation, where he specialized in providing care for children with malignant and benign blood diseases and genetic and immune conditions. Dr. Mahadeo’s research is focused on novel applications of allogeneic stem cell transplantation and immunotherapy for solid tumors and genetic diseases, and improving critical care outcomes for all children undergoing SCT.

Dr. Mahadeo is a member of the FACT Quality Management Committee and serves as a FACT Cinical Hematopoietic Cellular Therapy, Clinical Immune Effector Cellular Therapy, Marrow Collection, and Processing: Minimal manipulation of HPC inspector.

Jamie Rogers

Blood and Marrow Transplant and Immune Effector Cell at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Arizona

Jaime Rogers MSN, RN has worked as the Clinical Quality and Compliance Manager for the Blood and Marrow Transplant and Immune Effector Cell at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Arizona as since 2018.  Since 2002, she has worked in a variety of other roles in BMT at Mayo clinic including inpatient/outpatient nursing and leadership.  Currently, she serves on the ASTCT Administrative Director SIG Quality Committee.
